2026 Summer Intern - GIS Data Collection

Manatee County Government in Lakewood Ranch, FL is seeking a Summer Intern for GIS Data Collection. This internship supports Property Management in developing an ArcGIS Indoors Reservation system for two county buildings. The intern will collaborate with GIS staff to construct and test the system, digitize building features, and conduct quality assurance on facility data. Additional responsibilities include managing water consumption data in Energy Star Portfolio Manager and potentially updating facility blueprints or assisting with mapping projects. Duration: May 18 through July 31, 2026. Hours: Up to 27 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Required skills include experience with GIS systems, spatial data management, and energy tracking. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, be eligible to work in the U.S., and be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited educational program within 12 months of graduation. Graduate-level students in related fields are particularly sought. Salary: $16.00-$20.00 per hour.
