SUNY College at Geneseo invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Geography & Sustainability Studies beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will teach courses in geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and related geospatial technologies at the undergraduate level. Additional teaching responsibilities may include introductory geography, environmental geography, or sustainability courses depending on the candidate's expertise. The position involves maintaining an active research program that complements departmental strengths, advising students, and contributing to the interdisciplinary Sustainability Studies program. The Department of Geography & Sustainability Studies at SUNY Geneseo is committed to excellence in undergraduate education and offers programs that prepare students for careers in geography, GIS, and sustainability. Required: PhD in Geography, GIScience, or closely related field at the time of appointment. Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level and active research agenda in geospatial science or sustainability. Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software suite preferred.
