Supervisory Geographer/Cartographer position within the USGS National Geospatial Technical Operations Center (NGTOC). Directs, supervises, and motivates a professional workforce of geospatial specialists in the planning, investigation, testing, prototyping, development and implementation of emerging technologies and capabilities for improving the value, quality, and efficiency of National Geospatial Program (NGP) products and services. Performs planning, budgeting, and oversight for numerous applied research projects in support of The National Map. Works closely with internal and external stakeholders including NGP Product and Service Leads and NGP Enterprise Architecture staff to develop annual and long-term Applied Research objectives and requirements. Serves as a technical advisor and geospatial subject matter expert. Maintains contact with external partners, vendors, academic organizations, industry professionals, and other government agencies to coordinate the transfer and application of new technologies. Provides oversight and guidance for the development and publication of NGP geospatial data standards. GS-13, $106,437 - $154,280 per year. Locations in Rolla, MO or Lakewood, CO.
