Esri seeks a Data Scientist II to apply machine learning and location intelligence expertise. The role involves collaborating with customers to develop data-driven solutions integrated with GIS workflows. While prior GIS experience is not required, the role works closely with GIS experts and serves diverse sectors including natural resources, defense, utilities, and government across 160+ countries. Key Responsibilities: Consult closely with customers to understand their unique challenges; develop and pitch data science solutions by mapping business problems to machine learning or advanced analytics approaches; build high-quality analytics systems that solve customers' business problems using techniques from data mining, statistics, and machine learning; write clean, collaborative, version-controlled code to process big data and streaming data from various sources. Recommended Qualifications: Master's or PhD in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field; spatial data or geospatial analytics experience; knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, or agentic AI frameworks; proficiency in PyTorch or TensorFlow; Git version control and collaborative development skills; large-scale data handling experience (Apache Spark); cloud deployment capability (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
