Planet Labs is seeking an Education & Research Program Manager & Evangelist to promote the use of Planet's satellite imagery and Earth observation data in academic and research communities. The role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in remote sensing, Earth/Environmental Science, or other relevant fields. Key responsibilities include managing Planet's education and research programs, engaging with university researchers and educators to expand the use of satellite imagery in academic settings, developing educational resources and training materials for remote sensing and geospatial analysis, presenting at academic conferences and workshops on Planet's Earth observation capabilities, building relationships with government research agencies and academic institutions, evaluating research proposals and managing data access programs, and supporting the development of case studies showcasing Planet data applications. Required qualifications include a strong background in remote sensing, GIS, or Earth science, excellent presentation and communication skills, experience in academic or research program management, and familiarity with satellite imagery analysis workflows. Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field, experience with Python for geospatial data analysis.
