Forest Monitoring Technician

Full-time seasonal position (May 11 - August 7, 2026) assisting in measuring forest vegetation and site conditions in North-Central Minnesota's Chippewa National Forest and Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Landscape. Responsibilities include establishing monitoring plots to track vegetation changes pre- and post-treatment, entering and managing forest survey data using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and other GIS web applications, coordinating GIS-based data collection with TNC and Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe partners, performing GIS data processing and analysis, and compiling data to resolve discrepancies supporting assessment and planning. Requires Associate's degree in natural resources or environmental studies (or equivalent education plus 6 months' experience) and a valid driver's license. Compensation: $20.20-$22.45/hour with benefits including health care, 401(k) with 8% employer match, and parental leave.
