Full-time (40 hours/week) short-term position anticipated to run May 11–August 7, 2026 with flexible dates. Primary Duties: Measure forest vegetation and site conditions in North-Central Minnesota, primarily within Chippewa National Forest. Setting up plots within designated stands for monitoring changes pre/post silvicultural treatment. Collect baseline and pre-treatment forest vegetation data. Enter and manage data using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and GIS applications. Coordinate GIS-based survey data collection with TNC Staff and other conservation partners. Process data and conduct analyses supporting assessment and planning. Work with staff, interns, and tribal college students. Required Qualifications: Associate's degree in natural resources or environmental studies, or equivalent education plus 6 months' experience. Experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks. Valid driver's license; compliance with TNC Auto Safety Program. Desired Qualifications: Multi-language and cross-cultural experience. Field experience. Budget development and monitoring assistance. Independent judgment and basic supervisory skills. Hourly rate: $20.20–$22.45 depending on experience.
