They define and maintain the World Geodetic System (WGS), perform datum transformations between WGS 84 and local datums, and develop spatial and temporal models defining Earth systems. They provide in-depth technical expertise on geodesy, geophysics, and the geospatial sciences. Step into a role where your scientific expertise directly drives global navigation and national defense. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is actively seeking Geodetic Earth Scientists to tackle complex, real-world challenges on a global scale. We need experts to analyze the Earth's fundamental forces - its gravity, magnetic fields, and dynamic systems. In this role, you will maintain and advance the World Geodetic System, providing the critical foundational data that delivers a decisive advantage to our nation's leaders, military forces, and first responders. If you excel in scientific modeling, large-scale data analysis, and programming in languages like Python, C++, SQL, or Fortran, your technical skills are needed to translate raw geodetic data into actionable intelligence.
