Geographer

Uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, geographic concepts, tools, and systems to update databases and perform geospatial analysis. Reviews proposals and statistical methodology for geographic operations. Designs and develops GIS methods to prepare spatial databases and map population patterns. Analyzes and reports on population patterns and prepares reports and technical presentations. GS-11 level requires experience using GIS software and computing tools to conduct geographic research, spatial analysis, and mapping. GS-12 level requires experience developing improved methods for using GIS software and establishing quality standards. Minimum education requirement is a Bachelor's degree in geography or related field with at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields. Salary: $78,972 - $130,080 per year (GS-11 to GS-12). Permanent, full-time position. Multiple locations: Atlanta, GA and Oak Brook, IL.
