Geospatial Data Analyst

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a Geospatial Data Analyst to join their Geographic Data Science Section. The role involves conducting geospatial analysis, data interpretation, and visualization to support national security and scientific research missions. Key responsibilities include processing and analyzing geospatial datasets using GIS software and remote sensing tools, developing spatial models and analytical workflows, creating maps and data visualizations for research publications and briefings, managing geospatial databases, and applying machine learning techniques to geospatial data. The Geographic Data Science group at ORNL has been a pioneer in the development, implementation, and application of systems, science, and technology for geographic information since 1969. Required: MS in computer science, geography, geographic information science, remote sensing, environmental engineering, natural sciences, or related field, plus three years of relevant work experience. Experience with Python, R, ArcGIS, and remote sensing software is preferred.
