Geospatial Operations Manager

Geospatial Operations Manager - University of Minnesota U-Spatial Location: Twin Cities campus, Minneapolis, Minnesota (hybrid work; full-time remote NOT an option) Position Type: Full-time staff U-Spatial is seeking an engaged Geospatial Operations Manager with excellent communication skills and experience managing staff in an organization working on a wide variety of projects. The position will be based on the Twin Cities campus. Key Responsibilities: - Planning, executing, prioritizing, and overseeing GIS projects, including data acquisition, analysis, application development, publications, and visualization - Ensuring U-Spatial User Services is staffed and accessible to the University community - Recruiting, training, and supervising GIS staff - Mentoring newer staff and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment - Working with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to maintain the University's academic licensing of Esri software - Coordinating administration of ArcGIS Online organizations - Managing help desk contacts and coordinating software licensing - Supporting U-Spatial staff with appropriate technology Required Qualifications: - Experience managing staff in a GIS/geospatial organization - Excellent communication skills - Ability to develop rapport with domain researchers - Highly organized and comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary research team on a diverse set of projects - Experience with Esri software licensing and ArcGIS Online administration Skills: GIS, ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Esri, project management, staff management, geospatial analysis
