Geospatial Sensor Operator

Sanborn Map Company is hiring a Geospatial Sensor Operator responsible for the operation of computer-managed flight navigation systems, GPS geodetic base stations, and a combination of electro-optical (E/O) sensors, LiDAR sensors, and related remote sensing systems.

Major Responsibilities

Major responsibilities include:

• preparing field equipment, maps, logistics, and electronic information
• collecting survey and remote sensing data using various types of equipment
• maintaining and troubleshooting survey and remote sensing equipment
• preparing post-mission flight logs and reports
• assisting the Aerial Survey Pilot in determining conditions and procedures under which data collection will be performed
• and applying specialized knowledge of industry and proprietary software for in-office data processing and quality control

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree or certificate in math, computer science, or an engineering discipline preferred (or equivalent work experience), and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

This is a remote position approximately 95% of working hours with the ability to travel extensively throughout North America.
