The Harris County Flood Control District is hiring a GIS Analysis, Mapping, and Web Services Technician to support the district's flood risk reduction mission by maintaining and organizing geographic data. Key responsibilities include creating maps using GIS software, performing spatial analyses, maintaining GIS databases, producing GIS exhibits, and providing user support to district staff. Responsibilities: - Create maps and exhibits using ArcGIS Pro for flood risk reduction projects - Maintain and update GIS databases, including watershed, infrastructure, and parcel layers - Perform spatial analyses to support engineering and planning teams - Build and maintain web mapping applications using ArcGIS Online and Experience Builder - Provide GIS technical support and training to internal staff - Document workflows and maintain metadata for spatial datasets Core Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Two years of GIS product experience (or one year of GIS experience for each year of GIS coursework) - Valid Texas Class C Driver's License - Proficiency with Esri's ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and ArcToolbox - Strong communication and organizational skills Location: Geographic Information Services - 9900 Northwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77092.
