The Alaska Department of Fish & Game, Division of Sport Fish, is recruiting for a GIS Analyst 2 in Anchorage. The role focuses on maintaining the Anadromous Waters Catalog (AWC), a geodatabase identifying water bodies critical for spawning, rearing, and migration of anadromous fish species. Duties include annual revision to the AWC, processing hundreds of nominations yearly, performing spatial edits, updating metadata, and producing digital maps and data layers. The position also provides GIS support through mapping services and data analysis to division and department staff. Requires competency in geospatial science covering collection, storage, analysis, visualization, and distribution of geographic data. Technical competence in GIS operations, data collection, cartography, computer science, or related fields required. Education: any combination of post-secondary education and progressively responsible GIS experience. Special requirements include valid driver's license, First Aid and CPR certifications, and firearm possession/use capability for field work. Must submit portfolio of 3+ GIS projects. Salary: $32.78/hour. Flexible/hybrid work arrangement.
