GIS Analyst I

The City of Durham Technology Solutions Department is seeking a GIS Analyst I to provide enterprise Geographic Information Systems support. The analyst creates, edits, and maintains GIS data while developing web maps, applications, and services to ensure accuracy and consistency across spatial datasets. Responsibilities include maintaining data integrity by eliminating spatial conflicts and topological errors, supporting GIS projects from planning through analysis and presentation, facilitating special initiatives including vendor interaction and staff training, collaborating with departments to promote GIS best practices and quality assurance, delivering software documentation, training, and technical assistance, and troubleshooting GIS applications with emphasis on public safety systems. Requires Bachelor's degree in geography, information technology, or computer science, two years of GIS-related professional experience, valid unrestricted North Carolina driver's license, and proficient Esri skills. Preferred: GISP certification, experience with multiple Esri mapping solutions, enterprise data management, CAD and Records Management System exposure, and local government or public safety environment experience. Salary: $66,703 - $103,398 annually. Continuous recruitment with hybrid/flexible work arrangement.
