The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is hiring a GIS Analyst I. Incumbents develop, implement, maintain, and support the use of centralized and distributed GIS datasets, maps, applications, and tools. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geospatial Intelligence, Cartography, Computer Science, MIS, IT, or related field, or equivalent education/GIS experience with ESRI ArcGIS proficiency, U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, minimum age 18, and valid Nevada driver's license (or ability to obtain). Preferred qualifications include a four-year degree in Geospatial Intelligence, GIS, or Data Science with 2+ years recent experience, ESRI Technical Certifications, ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap proficiency, ArcGIS Enterprise or Online experience, SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabase familiarity, Python, SQL, and JavaScript data science workflows, and complex spatial ETL processing and spatial analysis experience. The selection process includes a Virtual Oral Board (65% weighted) and Practical Exam (35% weighted, in-person). Candidates must live within 25-mile LVMPD jurisdiction radius, pass a background investigation including polygraph exam (90-120 days), and participate in random drug screening. Salary range: $72,384.00-$107,140.80 annually.
