GIS Analyst Intern

Dewberry is seeking a GIS Analyst Intern for Summer 2026 in their Fairfax, VA office. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to join a team of professionals while working in a multidisciplinary consulting and engineering firm. The role offers potential for professional growth and the opportunity to apply the latest technology to flood studies and water resource projects. Typical responsibilities include work on water resources projects for federal, state, and local clients, coordinating with the project team, project managers, clients, local communities, and other contractors to compile all data necessary to produce the most up-to-date product. Required qualifications: currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree or higher in geography, GIS, Remote Sensing or related field, demonstrated proficiency with the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, and proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office: Word, Excel, Access). During the program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, participate in networking opportunities, professional development workshops, career planning, DiSC assessment, and a summer-long group project with firm leaders. Local candidates preferred; no housing stipend provided.
