The City of Oxnard seeks a skilled professional to join its Geographic Information Systems team within the Information Technology Department. The role emphasizes a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and a passion for utilizing Esri software. Primary Responsibilities: Deliver excellent customer service to City workforce members. Furnish specialized technical assistance for GIS technology setup, administration, and upkeep. Maintain and support GIS databases and create GIS data. Create and maintain technical documentation for customers and GIS staff. Execute duties independently or collaboratively as needed. Essential Functions: Develop and maintain GIS applications, tools, and workflows using ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online. Design maps and visualizations for stakeholder communication. Conduct spatial analysis to support decision-making processes and solve complex problems. Collaborate across departments on GIS solutions and initiatives. Troubleshoot and optimize application performance. Monitor industry developments and recommend innovations. Establish GIS standards, policies, and procedures. Manage data collection, maintenance, and QA/QC activities. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, or a related field. Three years of increasingly responsible experience related to GIS implementation. Valid California Class C Driver's License. Effective English communication (oral and written). Desired Qualifications: Local government or public safety sector experience. Esri certifications (ArcGIS Desktop Professional). Compensation and Benefits: Salary $80,618.10–$106,968.58 annually. Schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, every other Friday off; on-call rotation possible. Retirement: PEPRA (2% @ 62) or Classic (2% @ 55). Vacation: 4.39–8.08 hours per pay period. Sick leave: 3.70 hours per pay period. Medical and dental contributions vary by hire date. Tuition reimbursement up to $1,500 per year. 12 annual holidays. Important Notes: The City does not offer hybrid or remote work. Position requires 12-month probationary period. Background investigation mandatory; may include polygraph exam.
