GIS Analyst

The City of Rockledge is hiring a GIS Analyst to serve as a GIS specialist providing limited supplemental support to the Information Technology Division. The role focuses on spatial data analysis, mapping application development, and managing the city's geographic information systems.

Essential Functions

• Maintains authoritative datasets including parcels, utilities, roads, and zoning, and enforces data standards.
• Creates and edits feature geometry and performs quality assurance on spatial data.
• Designs map layouts and configures dashboards and web applications.
• Automates workflows using Python and ModelBuilder.
• Integrates GIS with municipal systems such as permitting and asset management.
• Provides technical support to city staff on GIS tools and data.

Minimum Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field plus one year of GIS experience in planning, public safety, or public works is required.
• A master's degree with three or more years of experience is preferred.
• Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in data translation and model creation, possess strong communication skills, and hold a valid Florida driver's license.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Proficiency in Esri software including ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise GIS, SQL Server databases, Python scripting, and geodatabase versioning. Experience integrating GIS with permitting systems and Computer Aided Dispatch systems is valued.

Salary
