The Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) seeks a GIS Analyst to support enforcement actions against industrial polluters and government agencies under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and other environmental laws. Working with EIP's team of researchers, lawyers and journalists, the GIS Analyst will compile, manage, analyze, visualize and map data related to air and water pollution, environmental justice, industrial infrastructure, and more. Key responsibilities include compiling, organizing, and visualizing pollution-related datasets, maintaining databases including Oilandgaswatch.org and Ashtracker.org, designing and testing informational dashboards and story maps, evaluating public records and permit applications, submitting information requests to government agencies, assisting with fieldwork and case development, and communicating findings to diverse audiences through reports and written materials. Requires four years professional experience plus bachelor's degree in geography, environmental sciences, engineering, policy, or related field. Proficiency with GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS) required. Preferred: Python or R experience, API data access knowledge, dashboard tools (Django, RShiny, Felt), EPA environmental database familiarity. Salary: $62,000-$82,000/year. Washington, DC or Remote.
