Stewards Individual Placements, a program of Conservation Legacy, is hiring a GIS Data Management and Web Mapping Steward through AmeriCorps to support the Urban Parks and Recreation Recovery Program in Washington, DC. The role focuses on creating a comprehensive geospatial dataset and ArcGIS interface for approximately 1,600 park and recreation facilities funded through the program. Main duties include compiling site inventories with grant information and documentation; field verification and GPS data collection at park sites across the region; geodatabase design aligned with NPS standards; developing geospatial web maps, apps, and dashboards to communicate program outcomes; creating user guides and training materials for partner agencies; and supporting data quality and metadata standards for the urban parks program. Compensation: living allowance of $600/week, plus $440/week additional benefit, plus $2,817.14 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. Service period: June 1 through November 13, 2026 (675 hours). Requirements: U.S. citizen or permanent resident; age 18+; high school diploma/equivalent; pass National Service Criminal History Check; current enrollment or within 2 years post-graduation from higher education; GIS experience and Esri proficiency strongly preferred; federal security clearance required before start date.
