Stantec is seeking a GIS Intern for Summer 2026 in Madison, Wisconsin. This internship provides hands-on experience working on environmental and infrastructure projects with one of the world's leading design and consulting firms. Interns will gain experience in GIS data management, spatial analysis, map production, and environmental consulting workflows. Responsibilities typically include supporting project teams with GIS data creation, editing, and analysis, producing maps and cartographic products for client deliverables, assisting with field data collection using GPS and mobile GIS tools, performing geoprocessing tasks and spatial analysis, maintaining GIS databases, and collaborating with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners. Stantec employs over 30,000 people and is known for community engagement and sustainable design practices. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field with coursework in GIS and spatial analysis. Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS products preferred.
