GIS Intern

The City of Gunnison, Colorado is hiring a GIS Intern to support public works and utilities projects. The internship focuses on geospatial data management supporting public infrastructure projects including water, wastewater, stormwater, streets, and parks systems. Responsibilities include updating utility datasets, conducting field verification using GPS equipment, performing quality checks on spatial data, and creating maps and StoryMaps using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Field Maps. Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting real world projects while building technical skills in a collaborative government setting. The role offers exposure to enterprise GIS workflows in a small Colorado mountain community public works environment. Position type: part-time temporary (non-exempt). Salary: $21.55/hour for 112.5 hours, with a $1.84/hour bonus upon successful completion. Benefits include 48 hours of sick leave annually plus a discounted recreation center membership.
