GIS Intern

The City of Janesville's Public Works Department seeks an enthusiastic Geography or GIS student to support the city's GIS and asset management initiatives. This seasonal internship focuses on infrastructure data management for utility systems. Key responsibilities include assisting with creating, editing, and maintaining utility infrastructure data in GIS, collaborating with GIS professionals, technicians, engineers, and utility staff, generating static maps and interactive webmaps using ESRI ArcGIS software, deploying mobile ArcGIS technology for field data collection on sanitary sewer and water systems. Requires pursuing a bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, Technology, or Urban Planning, experience with ESRI ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft Office proficiency, and a valid state-issued driver's license. Pay rate: $18.71/hour.
