GIS Internship (Summer 2026)

BETA Group, Inc. is seeking a GIS Intern to support municipal transportation projects through field data collection, spatial analysis, and mapping with hands-on experience alongside engineers, planners, and scientists. Key responsibilities include creating maps and visualizations for client projects, analyzing spatial data for transportation and environmental initiatives, building and maintaining GIS databases and web maps, supporting field data collection and asset inspections, performing geoprocessing and spatial analysis, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Required qualifications include enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program (GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related), understanding of engineering theory and concepts, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and current technology, strong communication and problem-solving skills, physical capability to lift 40 lbs and work in various weather conditions, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Preferred skills include ESRI (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online), AutoCAD or CAD platform experience, and OSHA 10 Certification. Pay rate: $22-27/hour.
