GIS Solution Engineer - State & Local Government (Northern Midwest)

Esri seeks a GIS subject matter expert capable of identifying the right analysis tools for the problem at hand. The role involves creating solutions and communicating GIS technology value to customers while joining an account team to address complex business challenges. Key Responsibilities: Build relationships by presenting and demonstrating Esri software, support sales strategies as part of the account team. Be an expert by developing subject matter expertise in local government and ArcGIS technical capabilities; communicate Esri messaging and anticipate customer needs. Solve problems by designing solutions showing how GIS addresses critical customer challenges; align technology with business objectives. Tell our story by delivering technical demonstrations to diverse audiences; provide deployment best practices; present at conferences. Minimum Requirements: 2+ years experience with Esri technology (mapping, spatial analysis, web applications); 1+ years local government experience; ArcGIS IT context understanding (hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud); technical consulting and solution design experience; geodatabase and DBMS technology experience; cloud computing knowledge (Azure or AWS); strong presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills; domestic/international travel capability (25-50%); Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or related field. Recommended: Python and JavaScript programming/scripting experience; AI/machine learning conceptual understanding. Compensation: Base salary range $79,248-$130,728 USD.
