The National Audubon Society is hiring a GIS Specialist, Conservation, who serves as a GIS and data management resource for Audubon Great Lakes and Audubon Upper Mississippi River. The Specialist is responsible for applying advanced skills in data management, geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and map design to support priority conservation initiatives across the Great Lakes and Upper Mississippi River regions. Responsibilities: Manage spatial datasets in support of bird conservation and wetland restoration projects; Conduct geoprocessing and spatial analysis using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Python; Produce cartographic products and dashboards for internal teams, partners, and external audiences; Support field staff with mobile data collection workflows (Field Maps, Survey123); Maintain enterprise geodatabases and contribute to data governance standards across Audubon's flyway initiatives; Collaborate with science, policy, and communications teams to translate spatial analysis into actionable insights. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Ecology, or related field; 3+ years of relevant GIS experience in conservation or natural resource management; Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, Python (arcpy), and web mapping platforms. Compensation: $55,000-$70,000 per year.
