The World Bank's Development Impact Group (DIME) is recruiting a GIS Specialist to work on the HungerAI project, a global public good that provides regular food insecurity predictions and risk monitoring. The GIS Specialist will be hired as a short-term consultant and will work on geospatial data analysis, processing satellite imagery, developing spatial models for food insecurity prediction, and supporting the integration of remote sensing data with machine learning algorithms. The role involves managing geospatial datasets, creating analytical maps and dashboards, and collaborating with data scientists and economists on spatial analysis workflows. Required qualifications include expertise in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS), remote sensing data processing, Python/R programming for geospatial analysis, and experience with satellite imagery analysis.
