Sheboygan County is hiring a GIS Specialist to help build the geospatial tools that guide planning, conservation, emergency services, infrastructure, and community development. Offered as a benefit-eligible Limited Term Employment (LTE) opportunity with potential to transition into a full-time position. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining GIS data using ArcGIS Pro; creating maps and spatial analyses for county departments; managing parcel and addressing datasets that support emergency response; converting legacy data into modern environments; maintaining the County's Plat of Survey Index and Certified Survey Map records; uploading and managing GIS data for State, regional, and intergovernmental systems; responding to mapping requests and providing technical GIS support to staff and community partners; and assisting with grant-funded projects and special initiatives. Required qualifications: Associate's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field (Bachelor's preferred) and three years of progressively responsible GIS experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; valid Wisconsin driver's license required. Position is primarily office-based with occasional field work to verify data and collect GPS information. Salary $29.84 - $35.06 hourly.
