GIS Specialist - Real Estate Assessor's Office

The City of Chesapeake Real Estate Assessor's Office is hiring a GIS Specialist to convert preliminary and recorded subdivisions and condominiums by creating and editing the GIS Parcel Fabric in ArcGIS Pro. Duties include reviewing plats, conducting legal document research, creating mapping products, quality-control verification of parcel data, and providing customer service to walk-in and call-in customers. The role collaborates across departments with the City Attorney and Planning departments. Minimum qualifications: a bachelor's degree in GIS or a related field plus a minimum of two years of full-time equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications: experience with ESRI's ArcGIS Suite, Parcel Fabric expertise, GISP certification, strong problem-solving skills, and knowledge of plats, surveys, and deeds. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours weekly). Salary range $55,854-$83,083 annually depending on qualifications.
