GIS Specialist

The City of Glendale, Arizona is seeking a GIS Specialist with a $3,000 hiring bonus to lead the Development Services GIS team and implement measures to enhance and streamline city mapping services. Key responsibilities include supervising GIS Technicians on technical aspects; maintaining city facility maps (parcels, streets, water, wastewater, storm drain, easements) using ESRI ArcPro and AutoCAD; researching, analyzing, interpreting and presenting geographic information; reviewing maps, aerial photographs, and legal descriptions; performing GIS data quality assurance and quality control; organizing metadata and preparing documentation for new data features; creating maps for internal and external customers; providing GIS database information to public, departments, and agencies; supporting Planning Division using tools like ArcGIS Urban; coordinating with Engineering, Utilities, and IT departments; and creating maps for the General Plan Comprehensive Rewrite project. Minimum qualifications: Associate's Degree in Geography, Cartography, GIS, Civil Engineering, CAD, or related field plus three years providing GIS support using ESRI GIS desktop software. Required knowledge includes ArcPro, AutoCAD, spatial data concepts, GIS feature creation and editing, GPS hardware operation, and civil engineering documentation interpretation.
