The City of Irving Water Utilities Department seeks a GIS Specialist to handle administration, coordination, collection, and dissemination of geographic information for Public Safety Departments including Police, Fire, and Emergency Management. This is a grant-funded position expected to continue one year or longer. Key Duties: Create and maintain GIS datasets in multiple formats supporting public safety and utility operations. Perform data analysis and research using relational databases. Develop ArcGIS map services and custom web mapping applications. Conduct field survey work using GPS equipment to verify and update spatial data. Train city employees in GIS usage and best practices. Update and maintain public safety mapping systems for computer-aided dispatch (CAD). Test and maintain new GIS software and equipment. Ensure data accuracy and perform quality control procedures. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Information Sciences or related field. One year of related GIS experience. Preferred: ESRI ArcGIS Server, Online/Portal, Desktop, and Pro experience. Beneficial Skills: Tritech, Tiburon, CentralSquare, Enroute, and MS Transact-SQL experience.
