GIS Systems Architect

Role summary
Design the enterprise GIS operating model - governance, standards, roles, environments, and service catalog - so multiple airport groups can reliably consume GIS as a shared platform.

Responsibilities

  • Define GIS governance: standards, data stewardship, environment strategy, and controls for how GIS services are requested, built, published, and maintained.
  • Produce an implementation plan for an integrated geospatial platform, including gap analysis of workflows, staffing model, and functional areas (admin, data management, system administration, user support).
  • Establish policies and patterns for BIM/GIS integration and lifecycle management in airport environments.
  • Create standards for CAD/BIM to GIS handoff, versioning, QA, and “single source of truth” alignment across engineering and operations.
  • Define security requirements and controls aligned to compliance expectations referenced by MDAD solicitations (including FedRAMP-aligned practices where required).

Required qualifications

  • Enterprise GIS architecture experience (platform governance, patterns, documentation, service management).
  • Hands-on understanding of CAD/BIM + GIS enterprise workflows and QA processes.

Preferred

  • Experience delivering in regulated / operationally critical environments (airport ops, public safety, infrastructure).
