GIS Technician

The City of Colorado Springs is seeking a GIS Technician to support the city's enterprise GIS program. This position involves maintaining and updating geospatial databases, creating maps and spatial analysis products, and supporting web mapping applications for city departments. Key responsibilities include digitizing and editing geographic features in city geodatabases, performing GPS field data collection for infrastructure mapping, creating maps and cartographic products for city departments, maintaining address and parcel data layers, supporting utility mapping for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, performing quality assurance on geospatial data, assisting with web mapping application development, responding to internal and external map and data requests, and documenting GIS workflows and metadata. Requirements include an associate's degree or higher in GIS, geography, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software required. Experience with GPS data collection, geodatabase editing, and cartographic design preferred. Valid driver's license required.
