GIS Technician

DeKalb County is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven GIS Technician to support and enhance the County's Geographic Information Systems operations. The GIS Technician is responsible for cadastral mapping and collecting, maintaining, analyzing, and mapping spatial data to support County operations. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining GIS data layers, creating digital parcel base maps including parcel splits, combinations, and subdivisions, interpreting legal documents and conveyance records, producing custom maps on demand, performing quality control work, providing user support for technical issues, maintaining 911 map layers for emergency response, managing GIS data orders, and conducting field work as needed. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, or related discipline, GIS certification or documented training, and proficiency with Hexagon GeoMedia and/or ESRI ArcGIS Pro. Pay rate $22.00/hour.
