GIS Technician

This position operates and maintains the County/City geographic information system (GIS) base maps, parcels, ownership, roads, subdivisions, and rights-of-way. Key responsibilities encompass updating parcel data, creating land splits, revising property lines, and incorporating new subdivisions based on deeds and surveys. The role requires conducting data collection research, utilizing maps, deeds, legal/court records, and computer databases to maintain accurate records. Additional duties may include field work with GPS surveying equipment if assigned to Water & Sewer services. The position is designated safety-sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Minimum qualifications: high school diploma/GED plus vocational training in cartography or computerized mapping, supplemented by one year of GIS operations experience, or equivalent combination. Valid Georgia driver's license required. Salary $47,390.00 annually.
