The Geography and GIS Instructor provides high-quality, student-centered instruction across a range of Geography and introductory GIS courses, emphasizing physical, human, and regional geography concepts as well as foundational geospatial skills. This part-time role supports student learning by preparing and delivering course content in face-to-face, hybrid, remote, or online formats, which may be scheduled during daytime, evening, or weekend hours.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver Geography and introductory GIS course content
- Provide student-centered instruction across multiple formats (face-to-face, hybrid, remote, online)
- Assess student performance and maintain accurate records in D2L learning management system
- Offer timely, constructive feedback to students
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and department chair
- Participate in department meetings and professional development
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree from a fully accredited institution in Geography or a closely related field
- At least 18 graduate hours in Geography
- 30 credit hours of Geography teaching experience in higher education
