Incumbent serves on the staff of the Directorate of Public Works at Fort Bliss, Texas, where assignments are multi-disciplinary in nature to include elements from the disciplines of geography, cartography, surveying, mapping, landscaping, and community planning. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation. Duties include: maintaining the enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) database and serving as the Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGIS) Manager; recommending solutions to complex planning problems related to conflicting factors of land use, development proposals, socioeconomic effects, and environmental constraints; reviewing project specifications, drawings, and reports to ensure construction program progresses in accordance with approved priorities, policies, laws, and regulations; developing comprehensive budget estimates by calculating costs for engineering, design, and master planning services; and initiating and maintaining liaison with a variety of agencies, including representing the organization at conferences with local, state, and federal officials. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in community planning, geography, cartography, or related field. One year of specialized experience at GS-11 level. Salary: $89,508-$116,362/year (GS-12). Permanent, full-time. Open to U.S. Citizens.
