IS Operations Technician 2 - GIS

The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County is seeking an IS Operations Technician 2 - GIS (Senior GIS Technician) within the Information Technology Services GIS Division. The role involves GIS data compilation and maintenance, emphasizing ArcGIS Indoors work, drone imagery processing, and cartographic product creation. Key responsibilities include creating and updating GIS datasets using spatial editing techniques; converting CAD drawings via ArcGIS Indoors; processing drone imagery through Site Scan; generating cartographic products and conducting GIS analysis; administering enterprise portal content and training staff; developing documentation and conducting in-house training on GIS software and applications; and feature data extraction using deep learning tools. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma plus two years of GIS experience, OR Associate's degree in related field plus one year of GIS experience. Preferred qualifications include ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise proficiency, ArcGIS Indoors editing experience, familiarity with Site Scan and Cyclomedia tools, and drone operator license. Full-time civil service position. All employees must be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents within six months of hire. Salary: $62,595.00 annually. Closing date: March 4, 2026.
