LiDAR Calibration Analyst

NV5 Global is seeking a LiDAR Calibration Analyst based in Portland, Oregon (hybrid). The role focuses on ensuring accuracy and consistency of airborne LiDAR datasets through calibration, QA/QC, and data validation both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment. Key responsibilities include executing LiDAR calibration using TerraMatch, StripAlign, and related software; validating flight trajectories, line overlap, and control accuracy; aligning LiDAR swaths into seamless, spatially accurate datasets; conducting QA/QC to meet absolute and relative accuracy standards; troubleshooting calibration and alignment issues; documenting calibration parameters and accuracy assessments; and supporting workflow automation using Python or Visual Basic. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Remote Sensing, Engineering, or equivalent experience, plus 1 to 3 years in LiDAR calibration, QA/QC, or geospatial data production. TerraSolid software and ESRI tools proficiency required. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years in technical geospatial work, BayesMap StripAlign or GNSS/IMU experience, Python/CADD/Visual Basic knowledge, USGS LiDAR specifications familiarity, and understanding of datums, projections, and coordinate transformations.
