National Geographic's cartography team, part of The Walt Disney Company, is seeking a Cartography Intern for Summer 2026. The team is at the forefront of visual storytelling, transforming complex ideas into stunning maps that reveal the world's hidden stories. The role includes contributing to National Geographic Magazine and National Geographic History through custom cartography, participating in team meetings and content critiques, and gaining hands-on experience in applied GIS work by mining databases and GIS resources to analyze and visualize story data. This is a full-time internship with approximate dates from May/June through August/September 2026, reporting to the Senior Manager, Cartography. Requirements include major or previous coursework in Geography, Cartography, GIS, or Environmental Science, and enrollment in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application, or currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. A portfolio review is required for this position, and applications without a portfolio will not be considered a completed application packet. Job ID: 10137856.
