Postdoctoral Research Associate (AI and Census Microdata) - University of Utah Location: Salt Lake City, Utah Position Type: Postdoctoral Research Associate, Full-time Department: College of Social and Behavioral Science The College of Social and Behavioral Science at the University of Utah is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with an interest in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to US Census data. This position is based in the Department of Geography within the School of Environment, Society, and Sustainability. The position involves research at the intersection of AI, geospatial data science, and census microdata analysis. The successful candidate will work with faculty on projects involving spatial data analysis, machine learning applications to demographic data, and geospatial modeling. Responsibilities: - Conduct research applying AI methods to US Census microdata - Develop spatial analysis and machine learning models - Publish research in peer-reviewed journals - Collaborate with faculty and graduate students - Present research at conferences and workshops Required Qualifications: - PhD in Geography, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field - Experience with AI/machine learning methods - Familiarity with census data and demographic analysis - Programming skills in Python or R - Experience with geospatial data analysis Skills: AI, machine learning, GIS, spatial data science, Python, R, census data, demographic analysis, geospatial modeling
