The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is seeking a Programme Associate (GIS Analyst) to support conservation initiatives in Bangladesh. The position involves using geographic information systems and remote sensing technologies to support biodiversity conservation, protected area management, and climate adaptation programs. Key responsibilities include conducting spatial analysis of land cover change and habitat connectivity, developing GIS-based monitoring systems for protected areas and biodiversity hotspots, creating maps and geospatial products for project reports and stakeholder communications, managing and maintaining spatial databases for conservation programs, supporting environmental impact assessments through geospatial analysis, training local partners and government staff on GIS tools and techniques, and contributing to regional conservation planning using spatial prioritization methods. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, environmental science, or related field, plus 2-3 years of experience in GIS analysis for conservation or environmental management. Proficiency in ArcGIS and/or QGIS required. Experience with Google Earth Engine, remote sensing data processing, and field data collection using GPS/GNSS preferred.
