Seasonal Biological Technician

Audubon is seeking a Seasonal Biology Technician to support field-based research and conservation efforts in western North Carolina. This role is responsible for conducting standardized habitat and bird surveys to assess the impacts of Hurricane Helene on priority species and ecosystems. The technician will collect and manage field data using GPS and GIS tools, work both independently and collaboratively with staff, and contribute to science-driven conservation initiatives. Essential functions include conducting standardized surveys using maps and survey protocols provided by Audubon North Carolina, collaborating with Audubon staff, and producing post-hurricane assessment data. Length of assignment: May 1-July 31, 2026. 40 hrs/wk at $19/hour based in remote western North Carolina.
