Senior Geospatial Analyst

Under the general direction of the Data & GIS Division Chief, the Senior Geospatial Analyst possesses in-depth knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques to enhance geospatial applications and mapping products for Cal OES. The role involves developing and maintaining GIS applications for emergency management operations, creating mapping products for disaster response and recovery, managing geospatial databases and spatial data infrastructure, performing spatial analysis to support emergency planning and hazard mitigation, coordinating with state and federal agencies on geospatial data sharing, and training staff on GIS tools and workflows. Requires extensive experience with Esri ArcGIS platform including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise. Knowledge of emergency management concepts and California's emergency management structure is preferred. Must be proficient in Python scripting for geospatial automation. Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field with significant professional GIS experience required.
