Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Nearmap, an Australian-founded technology innovator specializing in location intelligence leveraging proprietary camera systems, AI, and geospatial tools, is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer based in Warsaw, Poland. The role involves executing software engineering tasks supporting end-to-end machine learning operations with a focus on scaling workflows for large Earth Observation data and distributed systems. Key responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining MLOps systems including microservices, queuing systems, APIs, and orchestration workflows using Python, Kubernetes, Kafka, and modern database systems; implementing observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana for production ML system reliability; collaborating with data scientists on LLM, generative AI, and Agentic AI deployment for geospatial applications; reviewing architecture plans for organizational alignment and scalability; and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, 5+ years in Machine Learning, MLOps, DevOps, or Software Engineering, proficiency in Python and Linux with distributed systems knowledge, MLOps workflow experience including CI/CD pipelines, cloud computing expertise (AWS/GCP), Terraform, Kubernetes, and experience with observability tools and distributed system scaling.
