Senior Software Engineer, Geometry

Planet seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join its Calibration and Validation team, focused on Geometry. The role designs and implements automated, scalable processes to calibrate hundreds of satellites to ensure products meet and exceed geometric specifications and SLAs. Key responsibilities include geometric calibration of satellite fleets, performance characterization, troubleshooting image quality issues, developing photogrammetric models, and statistical processing of measurement data. Requirements: 10+ years in statistical processing of measurement data; Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or scientific field; strong Python expertise; cloud computing knowledge. Advanced qualifications include remote sensing experience, advanced degrees, satellite calibration background, and open-source contributions. This is a fully remote role based in Austria.
