Solutions Architect I

Planet, operator of the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history, seeks an experienced Solutions Architect to join its Professional Services team. The role involves transforming customer requirements into technical solutions by architecting systems that align with business objectives. Professionals in this position conduct workshops, develop demonstration applications, and guide teams through solution development in Agile environments. The position requires liaising across departments from product teams to satellite engineers while supporting the complete customer lifecycle from discovery through delivery and expansion opportunities. Required qualifications include a background in remote sensing, geoscience, or geoinformatics with 4+ years of relevant technical experience, a Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geography, or related field, extensive Python programming proficiency for geospatial applications, expertise in tools like QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, ENVI or other common geospatial software, cloud computing familiarity, and Agile team experience. Desirable skills include advanced machine learning knowledge applied to geospatial data, cloud tools including CI/CD integrations, and JavaScript mapping libraries. Full-time hybrid position (3 days weekly in Berlin or Haarlem office).
