Stormwater - GIS Technician

Horry County, South Carolina is hiring a Stormwater - GIS Technician. Under general supervision, this role assists with stormwater program activities including GIS data management, mapping, and stormwater plan reviews. Key responsibilities include maintaining GIS databases, supporting drainage system analysis, reviewing stormwater management plans for regulatory compliance and accuracy, data entry and map creation, updating stormwater databases, offering technical support to staff, conducting field verification work, and responding to data inquiries from engineers, contractors, and the public. Required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with coursework or experience in GIS, engineering technology, environmental science, or related field; GIS software experience preferred; valid South Carolina driver's license; ability to pass background checks. Essential skills: proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS), understanding of stormwater systems, plan interpretation, strong attention to detail, and effective communication.
