Student GIS Analyst

Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD) seeks a motivated and detail-oriented student to join their team as a Student Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst. This paid summer internship offers hands-on experience in a professional GIS environment, supporting projects related to environmental management, infrastructure planning, and resource conservation. Key responsibilities include data collection and preparation, GIS layer creation and maintenance, quality control checks, map creation, spatial analysis, and supporting project teams. Interns receive mentorship from experienced GIS professionals and gain exposure to real-world applications. Most positions are based in Whittier, with some positions in Carson and Compton. Minimum qualifications require current student status in geography, environmental science, urban planning, or related fields; completed GIS coursework; proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms; and valid driver's license. Pay ranges from $21.00 (Freshman) to $26.00 per hour (Master's Degree Conferred). Continuous recruitment until all positions filled.
